摘要

打击乐四重奏《谷应》是周文中的代表作,被誉为其“职业生涯获得的所有东西方理念的总和”。文章以音乐分析为基础,并与中国古代哲学、美学多方关联,探讨《谷应》之于作曲家创作生涯的意义和其立意,以及作曲家如何以声音为载体,对东西方关系及其音乐传统、作曲之独立性、声音本质、易学、琴学、山水、空间等重要问题进行思考和回应。

Abstract

The percussion quartet Echoes From the Gorge stands as the seminal masterpiece of Chou Wen-chung,hailed as the sum of all the Eastern and Western concepts he has gained in his professional career.Based on rigorous musical analysis and related to multifaceted realms of ancient Chinese philosophy and aesthetics,this paper scrutinizes the significance of Echoes From the Gorge within the trajectory of the composer's creative oeuvre, as well as how its intention and realization utilize sound as a conduit to reflect on and respond to important issues such as the interplay between the East and the West and their respective musical legacies,the autonomy of composition,the essence of sound,the philosophical underpinnings of the I-Ching, guqin theory,the vivid imagery of Chinese landscapes and San-yuan spaces.
