Marxism is the core of YU Runyang's musicological research and the extremely important ideological foundation for his proposal of“musicological analysis”.The article regards musicological analysis as a practice of Marxism in music research.It analyzes the internal logical relationship between musicological analysis and Marxism, and focuses on discussing the issue of musical form,which is regarded as a starting point and necessary approach for Marxist art research.Additionally,it connects musicological analysis with some new academic trends in the second half of the 20th century.
